Launch of Cold War Exhibit - 4 April 2024
Canada Aviation and Space Museum
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
|
The Canada Aviation & Space Museum (in Ottawa) launched a new Cold War exhibit on the evening of April 4th 2024. Sheila and Richard Brisson attended that event and had the pleasure of loaning a small number of artifacts from their collection - an F-21 KGB camera, rotors from a T-205 WECHA Soviet encryption machine (partially destroyed by the Soviets) and a KL-7 Nato encryption machine. The Brissons gave permission to the museum to take a high quality photo of Igor Gouzenko's oil painting from 1946 (while the Gouzenko family was at Camp X in Whitby) titled "Forbidden Beach" which they included in their graphics which is shown in the following photo:

One will also note that a MiG-15 as part of the Cold War exhibit. Interestingly, Sheila and Richard do have a gun/spy camera in their collection that was on board a MiG-15.
